Rules and Logistics

The tournament has two sections: round robins and playoff. During the round robins, the 8 teams will have a chance to play with every single team once. The total number wins/losses for each team will then be used to determine the playoff seedings. During playoff, the team with the best record will play against the team with the worst record. The other teams will be seeded in a similar manner. The winning team will advance to the next round and the losing team will be eliminated. 

• 5 on 5 full court basketball

• 8 minutes per game 

• Each team selects one player to “shoot for ball” for the first possession of the game

• There are 2s and 3s and free throws

• Referees call the fouls and violations. All dead balls start from the sideline or baseline, except for free throws  

• Substitution is only allowed on a dead ball

• There are no timeouts

• Clock is only stopped during free throws

Playoff

• 5 on 5 full court basketball

• 10 minutes per game 

• The team with the better record has the first possession. If two teams have the same record, each team selects one player to “shoot for ball”

• There are 2s and 3s and free throws

• Referees call the fouls and violations. All dead balls start from the sideline or baseline, except for free throws  

• Substitution is only allowed on a dead ball

• Clock is only stopped during timeouts and free throws

• Each team has a 60-second timeout per game

• In the event that there is a tie at the end of the session, an extra 2 minutes will be given
